Conductor API
Create cloud workspaces and run coding agents programmatically.
Step 1Get an API key
Create a user-scoped key from your Conductor dashboard:
https://app.conductor.build/home/api-keys
Step 2Test it here
Paste a key and we'll list your projects, then create a workspace in the first one. This provisions a real cloud workspace.
Calling the API from inside a workspace
Conductor cloud workspaces set CONDUCTOR_API_URL (the base URL of this API) and, when workspace API access is enabled, CONDUCTOR_API_TOKEN (older workspaces set CONDUCTOR_API_KEY instead) — send it as a bearer token. When CONDUCTOR_SESSION_ID is present, send it as the optional X-Conductor-Session-Id header to attribute requests to that session.
Key endpoints
The handful of calls most clients need. The full spec below has the rest.
-
GET/v0/projects
List the projects you can create workspaces in.
-
GET/v0/workspaces
List visible workspaces with creator and last activity. Use
sincewith an ISO 8601 date or timestamp to filter by last activity. -
POST/v0/workspaces
Create a cloud workspace from a
projectId(orrepositoryUrl) and start its first session. -
POST/v0/sessions/{sessionId}/attachments
Get a presigned URL for uploading a file (up to 100 MB) to attach to a message. Preview; enabled per user.
-
POST/v0/sessions/{sessionId}/messages
Send a prompt to the agent in a session, optionally with up to 10 uploaded

Poll a workspace until it's ready to use.
-
POST/v0/workspaces/{workspaceId}/sleep
